Eric "Rico" Desjardins is a former professional defenseman who played 17 seasons in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers (11 seasons,1994-2006). Desjardins was the 12th Captain of the Philadelphia Flyers (2000-01). He is second on the Flyers All-Time List among defensemen in goals (93), assists (303) and points (396), trailing only Mark Howe in each category. He is eighth on the Flyers All-Time List in games played (738). Desjardins won a franchise-record seven Barry Ashbee Trophies as the most outstanding Flyers defenseman. Eric won the Stanley Cup in 1993 with the Canadiens and was selected to 3 All-Star Games. In 2015 Eric was inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame.
